Leiblichkeit & Sexualität

Votivkirche, Vienna, Austria, 2014
Curated by David Rastas

Fliegenglobalisierung featured hand drawn maps of the world on six large white globes. Pheremones which are attractive to houseflies were mixed with glue and applied to the land areas before leaving the globes outside to gather insects in public areas around Graz during the summer of 2013. In the winter of 2012/13, forty-seven asylum seekers sought refuge in the Votivkirche, sleeping in the lower southern aisle for three months. Fliegenglobalisierung was installed in the corner of the church which had previously been a temporary home to the asylum seekers.
